The Queensgate Centre in Harlow offers Essex residents somewhere to go for all their homeware needs, and incase you get a little peckish during your shopping spree, then there are plenty of eateries on offer too. Need a kitchen? Head to Wrens. New flooring? Scs will have you covered. Furnishings to impress the new neighbours? You’ll find it in Laura Ashley. And for those bargain accessories? Homesense is the perfect stop off. And after all of that spending, relax with a coffee at Costa or perhaps tucking into a cheesy pizza at Pizza Hut is more your style.
Although the weather might not feel like it recently, we still have some summer and should be outside celebrating with picnics, BBQs and al fresco festivities. Perhaps we will be lucky and get an Indian summer so we can finally enjoy more time in the garden. There’s nothing I love more than dinner in the garden as it reminds me of being on holiday, on the patio outside our usual rented apartment in Cyprus with a cocktail by the pool. I love recreating that holiday feeling and to do that, all you need is a little sunshine and some homeware goodies all of which you can find at Queensgate Retail Park.
Besides the food, my favourite places for my homeware essentials for every season are Homesense where you can pick up unique items for bargain prices and Next Home for those luxury must haves. In Next, some of the biggest trends are ‘Cultivate’ inspired by nature and earthy tones, ‘Scandi Island’ for a beach vibe, ‘Happiness’ because yellow is the new black. Having recently decorated our lounge, we chose yellow as one of the main colours to brighten up to room. From next, I picked up these beautiful cushions and matching wallpaper to use as a feature wall. We have painted the rest of the walls cream, so to keep up with the colour theme, I picked up this fun yellow photo frame to clip polaroids of my favourite memories on to. There are some beautiful items on offer which I had to resist picking up that would make the perfect addition to our room.
Homesense right now is still full on indoor plants to bring the outdoors in, bright coloured cushions and with some of the perfect summer accessories in the sale. I fell in love with these tropical print chairs and had they have been suitable with the rest of my lounge decor then I most definitely would have picked them up! They are absolutely gorgeous and the print is so vibrant and current.
No summer party is complete without a cocktail so what better than a drinks dispenser. I love filling these up with a secret recipe of juice and alcohol and it’s easy for everyone to help themselves too. You can get them in glass or plastic and they’re easily cleaned once you’ve finished using them.
You don’t have to end your shopping at Queensgate in summer because as the seasons change they have plenty of new products coming onto the shelves. Homesense is perfect right now for those spooky Halloween decorations and Next Home have been introducing deeper autumn colours.
This post has been written in collaboration with The Queensgate Centre who kindly provided me with a gift card to purchase some of the items from this summers trends mentioned in this post. However all views are my own and the items chosen were of my own choice.
